* * * * *Position:* Sr. Windows Admin *Location**: * Santa Ana, CA *Duration:* 6 months *Skills: * Very strong senior windows system administer with experience across versions and deployment cycles. Very focused and in-depth experience in tuning of large windows environments, with deep knowledge on trouble shooting performance issues. Less application support and more Windows OS/ESX support. Skills should include ability to trouble shoot OS issues related to active directory, DNS and server and platform performance. Buildnig OS to standards, virtualization of servers and configuration of physical servers, patching of OS and related architecture services. Experienced using Windows Update Service. Deployments are small now (5-10 a week) but is expected to ramp up. Strong experience in performing root cause analysis and remediation across OS, platform and network. Experience with DR testing and support. Not looking for a technical architect. *Position Duties:* Oversee all aspects of Windows administration and support, including availability, monitoring and performance of WinOS/ESX and VMWare environment. Build procedures and scripts to manage/automate deployment, patching and remediation. Identifies sources from configuration, transforms requirements to physical implementation. Conducts performance tuning and troubleshooting of servers. VMWare, clustering, network/SAN environment to support production and development environments. Supports MSSQL Admin with platforms issues and helps define strategies for recovery, migration and archiving. Adhere to platform, data, security and systems standards. Assist is system migrations, capacity planning and disaster recoverability activities. Develop or adhere to system management, monitoring and recovery procedures. Help system architect with validating designs and provide production support. *Candidate Requirements**:* 8-12 years of relevant MS Windows Admin experience in a large company and with large windows environment background. Preferably someone with experience with managing Windows operating systems over multiple versions (looking for depth in understanding of Windows platform architecture and products). BS in computer science or equivalent. Demonstrated proficiency in Windows admin (Microsoft Certified Master certification requried). Aspiring or current Windows platform gurus will be a great fit. Should have excellent problem solving and analytical skills as well as outstanding oral and written communications skills. Self motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision.
