Have you looked at owtap?
It has everything except the logging. What format would you suggest for
logging? Mix to and fro? Pute binary? Ascii interpreted?

I'm still working on the DS2423 problem, since my last post I have
blown up my WRT54GL (never wire breadboard live), moved house, bought
a new WRT54GL and found a floating earth problem when I had wired up
the new WRT54GL (always check for dry joints) hence
the delay
I tried the packages for NSLU2, but they were not working very good.
However, I managed to compile freetype, ghostscript, imagemagick and gsfonts
for openwrt now, so it's possible to generate images on Asus wl500gd with
extra memory-stick at least. Only flash is not possible.
