Current development is under Ubuntu, so that should certainly work. Now
that fuse in included in all distros, owfs should work on all of them.
I've also done extensive testing (linux guest and host, XP guest linux
host) with VMware -- works fine.

I have had no problems using Ubuntu (native, not in VMWare), but
cannot comment on other ditros. Coincidentally I am looking into
using VirtualBox on

Actually I run both owfs and rrdtool in a VirtualBox on my WHS server.
It was quite an hurdle to get everything set up at first try, I am a newbee
to both the Linux world and VirtualBox. I run debian in the VM. The setup
has been working fine for several months now.

a serial port busmaster (e.g. DS2480B based). USB devices should also
work, although I'm slightly less sure in that case (timings, etc.).
