Hakan, I had an episode (on a BBB with I2C connection) where for a couple of weeks the temperature resolution would randomly drop from 12-bit to 1/2 degree C. Looking at the owserver presentation of all of the various bit resolutions, sometimes the lower resolutions were not proper representations
