Seems as if this could all work, buzzer would just be an addressable switch
going through a relay/SSR controlling the buzzer, simple, and the keypad
probally just a 2408 running switches...Just a simplistic menu driven access
system.

so you saying having ~20 2408 chips and say 10 other arbitary devices (lcd,
programmable buzzer) is gonna be too many devices to run with owfs...
