When installing owfs-2.8p1 under slackware 13.1 I found a couple of problems
and offer the following work-arounds.
'make' failed with message 'no rule to make Config.pm'. The fix was to cd to
directory module/ownet/perl5/OWNet and type
perl Makefile.PL
rerunning make on the whole of owfs then
owserver --debug -uall

I have OWFS 2.8p1 running on Slackware 13.1. Two DS9490R adaptors work as
expected in any combination of the 4 USB sockets, but I cannot get the third
one to be recognised by OWFS. The Linux command lsusb does show the 3
devices. Does usb=ALL find more than 2 devices?
