When the files sync and you look in the folder, there is a green tick when it
is in sync and two blue rotating arrows when it is syncing.

I meant the notification icon in the indicator (in Ubuntu), and I guess
the equivalent for Mac OS X and Win.

I just want to jump into this topic as I believe it is more relevant

your are right. It´s not important for this part. But the next logical step
could is to show the sync status as a small overlay icon on the file or folder
itself in the filemanager. So you can see that only a part of the files are
synced. Dropbox does something like that.
