as part of our uni course. It was also a part of our scope of practise, i am 2nd
year at uniSA and have yet to see anything done on it here though.

Please I ask you all to put it very clearly that surgery that requires such levels of post-operative pain relief is not pain free!!

observed that women who are smokers tend to require less pain relief as they
seem very keen to get out of bed and go for their first smoke post birth - by
C/S or otherwise!! It certainly seems to be an incentive for them to get
up and moving.

My first wasn't bathed for 3 days. It was
done when we were ready. I found that really lovely. She was clean and didn't
need bathing. My second - different - hospital - was bathed within 30 mins of
birth (as have been several I've seen), which I found really sad. I could
