In our small Mid unit ( 300+ births
P/A) we average one ELC/s birthper week. I cannot recall the last time we had a PPH following a birth
bythis method.
All women return to the ward with a Synt Infusion ( 40
u in 1000mls over 4 hours). Repeated PRN (this is veryrarely
required).
I am happy to help, my PhD thesis is nearly finished and is looking
specifically at womens worries about childbirth. Belinda

I really appreciated reading this articale and wish Jill and her colleagues

I cringe at my own naivity when I went to PNG and also the medical model
which was being imposed there.
Thankfully some women had not been turned into patients and the system was
not so
