Hi everyone,
Just a quick reminder, now that the year is swinging into gear, that
we have a wonderful speaker on this topic coming to Australia in
February. Sherokee Ilse is the current President of the International
Stillbirth Alliance and the author of a number of books on this
topic. She i

Dear Rochelle
Kelly’s info is up to date.
Forget Medibank Private, they are hopeless as you no doubt know.
As an existing fund member waiting periods do not apply if you switch funds. But naturally confirm this. Grand United is the fund
Hi Rochelle, the HBF of W.A covers $1400

I have thought this for years but seeing how hard it is to
eliminate Failure to Progress from the OB language I think it
would be harder to change EL CS to SCS or Booked CS.

Hello,
I seem to remember that poeple on this list have done the
ground work in regards to health funds covering homebirths and private midwifery
services. Does anyone know of one that covers these services and if
so how much do they cover? Alternatively has anyone had any luck
negotiating
Thanks all for your thoughts and I completely agree, but how do we get that
out there in the mainstream? Because my forum is mainstream (but I have
secretly loaded up the site with gentle articles) and it's s busy,
especially since we get lots of promotion in the major parenting mags. While

Hi All,
I absolutely agree with Justine and Brenda. Artificial tools like the
'Epi-No' merely serve to instill fear of birthing and undermine women's
belief in the ability of their own bodies to birth naturally and well. I
have the same opinion of perineal massage - it just focuses the womens

A new study suggests that the longer infants
are breastfed, the lower the likelihood they'll be overweight as adolescents
Kelly,
Well, the bad news is
that labour will be much more intense that what she's experienced with the
epi-no!
The good news
is that the vagina is very vascular & in a healthy
woman heals quickly. A lot of blood can result from a quite
minor laceration & it'll almost certainly be heale
Hi Rob
Did you see this one? I've been hanging onto it for ages, sorry.
Have a go at it -- maybe use the illustration of your last client , how this baby got off to a great start because of the better attitude of the staff towards her situation.
Just a thought

Title: Re: [ozmidwifery] Tearing after using Epi-No?
Oh Dear
Don’t worry from tearing from an insane gadget sold by the Obs that is really unnecessary if a woman works with her body and births actively.
I guess though that with a private Ob she has the worst chance of birthing actively and nat
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a woman I am
