I suffer from a muscle disease and had lots of trouble with my legs but

Well here is another debate..Feminism and interventions in childbirth..
As I experienced and lived feminism I saw a divide a] there were many in
the childbirth movement pushing for births of our choice with information
and support the important components.
Out of this focus came childbirth
I suspect the practice of inducing twilight sleep stopped when husbands
started being at biths late 1960's+..I say husbands because partners were
only allowed in later...maybe we have progressed !!

I was married in 1962 and the day before the wedding my mother had made an
appointment for me at the Family Planning centre in Sydney [ was it still
called racial hygiene?] My fiance and I walked into the foyer
This is a bit of a nostalgic ramble but may be of interest
SO pleased the National Women's Media Centre has been mentioned. For
some time I was their International Coordinator and represented the group
at the 1995 Women's Conference in Beijing both at the NGO and UN levels.
