Thankyou so much for your
replies. I actually was mainly responding to a request from a (?Sue
Rumble) from about 5 weeks ago..... I was back from 3 weeks holiday (900
plus Emails), but I always believe more
heads are better than one, loved your suggestions. We work and are
employed as midwives for the unit, by the hospital and as such the budget and
mind set of the bean counters does not see these women as part of our care
beyond their birth and a short post natal period. Our recourses as
such does not enable us to follow through. However Community
Health does follow the girls well using various funding like Families
First (as with all areas there is never enough money or workers). The
Community workers do develop a repour with the young women and their families
during their pregnancies.
In the new year I am
hoping to visit a long standing program in Nepean to see their system and gain
further ideas and skills. Just going through the chain of command to get
my request through....gotta do it right.
