Dear All, I asked Janine to paste my letter on ozmidwifery, I am a lapsed contributer- work pressures. I used to work in a birth centre now I am in a tertiary referral centre. Oh big change. Chipping away as best I can with small successes on the way.
ACMi has a very clear policy, and process on mail outs of information. This includes never giving out members addresses. However if anyone has issues with the current process then request to get it changed through your state branch or national delegate. The ACMI does what the majority of members ask it to do. If you feel really pasionate about addressing the issue once and for all, why not put up a motion at the AGM and get it voted on by the members. I read the information with much interest, and will be researching it more. But my interest is currently women who are induced at my hospital get the two doses of prostins 6 hrs apart. ETc etc. So they stay in hospital over night etc. (I always think the longer you're in hospital the more chance peple have to interfere with you! ) Staying home is much safer. So if this product is a one dose thing, what I would be interested in is once they have that dose after a couple of hours go home and only come back when in labour etc. Maybe much nicer for those women who are being induced, becuase unfortuantely some women are. ( well actually far to many, but thats a whole other story) Anyway taking a long time to get to the point. I was very happy to get the info, I've got a brain, just because the ACMI assisted in the process of getting it to me, doesn't mean they endose it.
