Sally asked about Raynards.

Hi Sally,
My books for specifics are at work, but I understand this disease to affect circulation of extremities including fingers, hands, toes and can affect nipples.  I have seen this affecting breastfeeding.  The nipples looked white and after a while circulation returned and they looked quite bright pink.  I understand the circulation to be affected by anxiety and cold and I have seen both these to shut down circulation (temporarily) in nipples.  I have seen anxiety associated with pain of sore nipples cause this and lead to other problems including blocked duct and engorgement.  Warmth as in warm packs can help and I have read of medication prescribed by medico-lactation consultants in some instances.

Cheers, Leigh
