Thankyou to those of you who have given me some resources to pass on.
However I'm am saddened that this posting has caused a fellow midwife a great deal of pain.  It was not my intention at all.   I believe that we all as midwives should be working together with and for women.  I was merely expressing what the woman had told me, if she had given me misleading or false information then I was badly misled and have as a result gone on to hurt a colleague and that causes me grief also.  I do understand about the extremely difficult circumstances that midwives, inparticular IP's are currently burdened,  It was NEVER my intention to exacerbate the situation.  I have worked very closely with IP's and personally in caseload practise and realise the importance  and difficulty of midwifery and offering choice to women.  That is why I was asking for resources for this woman,  I again apologise for the pain that this has caused this midwife and any others, I was acting in good faith with what I was told were the facts by this woman.(Not third hand)  We indeed need to work with women and their choices AND be supportive of each other as midwife colleagues, and that was my intention, to build bridges and networks not weapons and walls. I am sorry. Pauline
