Thanks, everyone, for your responses to the rubella thing. I’m
not a fan of vaccination and so will not be doing any screening, immunising
etc. I thought I just ought to check that the doctor wasn’t telling me
something glaringly obvious.

No, I don't think you're being harsh...it reminds me of the petty
bureaucrat who claimed a couple of days ago she had been trying to ring me back
(several months down the track, mind you) on my mobile number she got off my

I had a similar conversation with an ob when I was pregnant with my 1st
child. It had turned into an disagreement and I turned the tables on
him and asked him his own rubella status. He, who was in contact with
pregnant women almost every single day, had no idea of his own rubella
status!!
