Hi Ken,

You can do this quite easily by adding a calculated column (or two) to the 
content type and adding HTML. There are some very nifty tutorials about this 
here -

I've used this (and other techniques) to create a mini calendar view with event 
detail pop-up info.

Hey Guys,

I have been doing some hunting and can find some Web Parts online for 
this...which you have to buy. But wondering if there is a simple (FREE!?) 
method of colour coding Calendars in sharepoint. We have a global calendar 
which has heaps of stuff in it, but has different views to filter say training 
events etc. What I would like to do is colour code every type of filter, so 
when you are looking at everything you can differentiate it all a little better.
