You are right—I can minify with esbuild, although I have to pre-concatenate and
give up source maps, since upstream does not use ES6 modules, only selected
features like “const.”

The JavaScript, like almost all JavaScript in the wild now, cannot be minified
with uglify-js (the only minifier I know of that is packaged in Fedora) because
