We just discovered the exact same issue that you described, and have created a
patch.
You can either apply the maintenance branch or apply the patch directly.
Maintenance branch: /usr/local/pf/addons/pf-maint.pl

Hi,
On my 5.3.1 installation running on Debian Wheezy the Unregistration
time is not set
when the node is registered via email. The sponsor and sms registration
is working OK.
I've checked the settings in /Users/Sources/email/catchcall and the Set
access duration
is sat til 1 day.
