Is there an example of code of how to make a graphical menu bar such as done in
the Palm Real Player program?
Or alternatively how to add a static icon or bitmap to the right hand part of
the menu bar.

meanwhile I knew more and the problem looks to be somewhere in the network -
outside of the PDA.
The final argument was when I tried to connect to different W2000 PC's. One
connection consistently showed the errors, the other one worked flawlessly.
PDA side was identical in both cases.
