Speeding up hotsynch (24K Records)

Hi Team, Can anyone suggest a way to increase the time it takes to download a large PDB that has 10K+ records. Someone suggested I combine the records together. However, I foresee a lot of complication in creating/editing/deleting records on the palm. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Dav
