Hi there,
In the PODS, when I Run or Debug the sample Hello World program, setting
the Target to the Garnet 5.4 Simulator, the Simulator starts but does
not start the app. The PODS returns with a timeout message.
Help?

Is anyone aware of any GPRS Developments with regard to the Palm?
We have a GPRS phone which was can WAP on, but if we use the IRDA to connect to the
net, I'm sure its making a data call,
and not utilizing the true GPRS feature.

Yes. From the Application Launcher, use Shortcut-I, or Menu - Info.
Select the Version button, and the OS Version is shown at the top.

You will need to show the forms with FrmPopupForm(), with each form returning to its

I suspect (I haven't tried it?) if you use FrmGotoForm(), an amount of screen blanking
occurs?
If not, you could swap from one to the other, and not fret about the screen space you

Can anyone provide me with Serial Driver example source?
Does anyone know if there is GPRS support available through Palm Serial Drivers?
TIA.

I've always had this same problem. Although it would be great to have this feature,
I've done without it.

Yes, you are correct. Think single thread.
Each instruction is executed one after another.
Hence why for long operations, they recommend giving some kind of visual indication
that the app is busy, and can't update the form, handle buttons, and whatever.

Does LstSetListChoices() make its own copy for the list to use, or does it continue to
use the memory that you have indicated in this call?
Could I destroy my string list, and the list remain happy?

ScanMgr.Lib is part of the Symbol SDK, which you'll need to include to be
able to support Symbol features.
This is one starting point:

Perhaps you wish to StrCopy(InBuff, strRBuff) instead?
I would not personally use StrCopy, as this will copy all characters
up until the terminating NULL, which
will not always exist after the single character you wait for.
Try an algorithm similar to this:
Here is a thought...
Making use of the application launch codes sysAppLaunchCmdInitDatabase and
sysAppLaunchCmdSystemReset,
you could trap these and ensure your button is mapped.
In order to create the reset, the only way I can think of causing this would
require a simple conduit which one time
Hi Sam,
I would suspect that your memory could well be the problem here.
Over time your memory may become heavily fragmented, and this will cause
the progressive slow down.
I've successfully moved large quantities of data around on the SPT1740

I can reply to my own question on this. I was handling the appropriate keys
at the right time, but had overlooked the while condition in the
AppEventLoop in starter.c
So all fixed.

Hi Michael,
To do this, I created a unit which showed a form, and maintained its own
Event Loop.
The function I called returned the button pressed, I gave it information
regarding the text to display, the captions for the buttons etc etc etc.
Because the function handled the events, it only
Is there an way to get my application to start when the Palm resets?
This creates the image of a single application device. Easier to train
the limited use users this way?
Has anyone done this already?

I'm guessing you handtyped this is rather than cut and paste from code,

I've taken a different approach again Bob.
I store multiple records in one record chunk, and have written code to
deal with the access.
I win on database speed, the increased number of records allowed and the
reduced psuedo record overhead.
I was going to store 25 byte records, but found it
me to 64K records, right?
So the best solution is to maintain a second database? Thats my
intended approach. Any hints/suggestions on that one?
TIA.

My Team is implementing a Sorted Binary Search on a database of 100,000
records.
This means that there is no more than 18 lookups before determining
whether a record exists.
