Is there any way programmatically to change the "Application Icon Name"
that one sets in the Constructor.
It seems like it should be very possible, but I don't see anything in the
documentation!
I'm looking for something that works under OS 3.0 and more recent.

You can just change the resource using a tool like par to replace the tAIN
resource.

Is there any way to set the Application Icon Name that shows up under your
application icon without compiling a new .prc file? I want to allow users
to set the Application Icon Name to whatever they want without having to
give them a new compile. Thanks.

Yes and no. Yes, you can modify the tAIN 1000 resource, just like any other.
But the Launcher caches this data, so you might have some trouble convincing
the Launcher to void its cache. If you decide to do this
