SPT1500 and IIIxe are different hardware from different manufacturers. I would be
surprised if
it actually did work. I'm certain the IIIxe ROM knows nothing about the scanning

Why not make a simpiler approach. Create a program simple launcher that
will only launch one program? You can use the source code of LauncherIII to
make it respond to the apps button. You can setup the hard keys to run your
one and only program. I'm even sure that you can make your program

TRGPro has a utility to do this.. but it can only be done with
flashable devices.. there is also a german guy working on a win32
application to allow you to remove/update/add programs to the rom
that can be reflashed
