When I do the following on Windows:
pp -v -o out.exe -e "use diagnostics;"
and then run .\out.exe, it gives the following error message:
No diagnostics? at diagnostics.pm line 429.
Compilation failed in require at script/ppCTAFk.pl line 1.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at script/ppCTAFk.pl l

Thanks a lot for your reply!
I installed Perl (and Par) as a 'normal' user. Deleting /tmp/par* didn't
seem to help.
Out of despair, I'm trying with a '-Duseshrplib' perl, which is not the
default under Irix (at some point it used to help...)
