Dear paraviewers,
I am building a new computer for CFD analysis. I have an old Quadro FX4600.
In terms of paraview performance, will it be better to choose an AMD HD6870 or
nVidia GTX 460 over my old Qudrao FX 4600?
Thanks

There isn't an in built mechanism for that.
The python programmable filter runs on the server, so it can not
control other filters along the pipeline (although it can set up
internal filters if you are familiar with programming at the vtk
level).
You best bet may be to use a python macro, which i
Okay, thanks. It is a huge dataset so I can't share it. If you don't seem to
have any problems with it, I will first look at what I did a little closer.

Duncan,
No - I believe that what you ask for is not possible - but it sounds like a
great idea. Mind writing up a feature request on the Kitware site?

Could you post an example dataset, or show us how to replicate this with a
sources/... source? Also, what version of ParaView? Local server?
Thanks,
Alan

Yes, we'll check it out and have it included in the 3.12 if all's well.

Not sure where you're adding this code, but you cannot get the "whole"
data merely from the mapper. The input to the mapper will always only
be the geometry being rendered which will change with representation
type (for outline, the geometry being rendered is only the outline).

Dear Paraview Users,
I experience probelm with Paraview after the Fedora operation system is
installed. Whenever opacity is reduce from 1.0 the machine hangs. The
only way to step over is to reboot the machine. Reboot doesn't always

Hi all,
[newbie question]: I want to show my mesh/grid in paraview and turn on
"wireframe" mode. But this shows triangles instead of quads... I
colleague of mine says that on his windows pc the correct quad mesh is
shown but on my linux pc, I only see triangles...

Hey, that works just fine, even with the compiz desktop manager enabled!
Thanks a lot!
