What do you call slow ? Is it the rendering part ? If that's the case, it
might be your driver for your graphic card that is not up-to-date.

At the moment a work-a-round is to use "paraview --use-old-panels" when
starting Paraview.
I would like to know what happend to the good old "edit radius tranfer
