there can always be such a problem especially when reading entries
required by certain types of boundary conditions. Either implementing
such knowledge or skipping the entire dictionary entries other than
the "value" entries in the boudaryFields could be an idea though.

Yes. For the allocation strategy, see slide 7 of [1]. And if you
choose "Reconstructed Case" and if the reader still works as intended,
the whole recousructed case should be loaded only by process 0.

I filed a bug for this:
http://www.paraview.org/Bug/view.php?id=11974
The patch is also attached to this mail.
As Mark says it would be very important, so we really hope to see this
included in the upcoming 3.10.1 release.
Thanks!

After some trials I managed to get the live data source to work with
my simulation code... I must say it's fantastic!!
Now, is there any expected timeline when it will be merged to the
mainline?

Hi Guenter, just for confirmation, did you build both VTK that your
converter uses and ParaView with VTK_USE_64BIT_IDS ON?
By the way I'm working with OS X 10.6, if it makes difference...

Hi Utkarsh,
Correct, as far as I tested, the problem is no longer present in 3.9.

Ouch. It's already been filed by another user as a OpenFOAM reader bug.

Hi Shinya,
If I am not mistaken Gouraud is an interpolation for shading than for
field values. Try crating a Sphere source and changing the
Interpolation selection between Gouraud and Flat, hopefully you'll see
the difference in shading.

Hi,
I wanted to drop a note to Japanese subscribers that a Japanese
translation of The ParaView Tutorial Version 3.8 is now available.
http://paraview.org/Wiki/The_ParaView_Tutorial
As always, many thanks to Kenneth Moreland for providing the excellent
tutorial and its LaTeX source.

Thanks! Just as a comment there are old gcc-2.96 (dash8) and gcc-3.3.2
(dash5/6) listed but as far as I can see from the dashboards they are
not used for VTK/ParaView.

My intention of the question is that it would be useful for a
(potential) contributor to have such a list so that he/she can test
the code with the compilers before submitting it.

If my example is not enough you can also take a look at
ParaView/CoProcessing/CoProcessor/Testing/TestDriver
but I'm afraid it might be a bit too overwhelming as a starting point.
Hope this helps,

Hi again,
This time I have a question: the demonstration of a live data
visualization at the bottom of the CoProcessing wiki page is
definitely awesome. When is the feature expected to be merged to the
git master of ParaView?

the GUI becomes back responsive.
Is it only me who is having this problem? Any thoughts?

It did work for the OpenFOAM reader on the Python console as well
under es_AR.UTF-8 (which I know had been affected by the problem) on
Ubuntu 10.04. Thanks for the fast fix!
