Regarding hiding cells/nodes, in vtkStructuredGrid there is "BlankCell"
and "UnBlankCell", "BlankPoint" and "UnBlankPoint". I don't know if you
can access that functionality from within ParaView given a selection,
and I don't see "blanking" in vtkUnstructuredGrid.
