Hi Dane. Well it seems like when you go to variable bit rate settings, it
did go from 0 to 9. I used to use 9, but think better of that now, so for
now, I'll go to 5, but there is a place in CDex where it says vbr-abr, or
something like that. Maybe someone who uses CDex could explain it

Hi Listers,
I can't remember if I saw it here or on the audible list, but I remember
someone talking about a portable powered speaker they had just acquired
from amazon that worked real well with portable devices like audible otis
and iriver mp3 players. If this jogs anyone's memory, I'd sure
On this same note. If anyone knows of a portable set that has deep bass
response I would be interested in learning about it.

The best portable speakers for speech in my opinion are the CreativeLabs
TravelSound. The new version called TravelSound 200, which I do not know
has a built-in normalizer. They're cheaper than the older ones, because
a power adapter isn't supplied anymore. However, they do have a socket
for that
