Just checked MSConfig and found Nero and Adobe related items running on startup. Unchecked both and the problem songs played fine. Then, rechecked each and then both and the song still played fine. Oh, well. Now, I'm just curious as to what's going on. I'll keep your message and tinker with

Another thing to check is to run msconfig and look through the entries in the Startup tab. There may be some entries in there that don't show up in the system tray. You could also bring up Task Manager or some other process reporting tool to see if there's a process that starts hogging the pro
