. Sometimes it will
work a long time, but somtimes the whole thing freezers up after 5 or 10
minutes. Any idea what to look for?
Thanks for any suggestions.

try jaws key plus h--if you are using jaws, that is. It seems that gives me
awhole menu of stuff you can do from the jaws script. One really never
knows when the scripts stop and the real winamp commands start.

have to do something like this?
Thanks.

Hi All,
Does anyone know of an mp3 player that will display the sampling rate and so
forth as it plays? In winamp, i have to get up a list of stuff for each
file. I'd like something a little quicker with less keystrokes.
Thanks

The up and down arrows change the volume; however, I think it's a jaws
script that really does it. That means you'll be using jaws and the current
scripts.

files to the hard drive as you suggested--when
necessary.
I do have several desktop machines of the same or earlier vintage that
record without a problem; so there's no reason that this laptop shouldn't do
the same. I just don't know everything about the possible settings.

I send a message there and it was published, I got it back from the list,
but no replies. Is it still active or should I ask somewhere else?
Thanks.

to the problem: when i listen to long audio (winamp
2.9) files (half hour radio shows, etc.) there are long pauses in playback
while the cd is being read--this doesn't happen when the file is on the hard
drive. I think it must have something to do with buffering?
Help, please?

I am confused. You are saying 56K, but I found something that says 44100
sampling rate. Are these two different items?
Thanks. What can I read to learn about these things?

Thanks, Jay. Where can I check the bit rate of a recording? I'm using
winamp when I can and when I can't, I'm using media player. Using GoldWave
to record. Can I change the bit rate of a file already recorded? How?
Thanks.

GoldWave to record mostly. How can I control the
bit rate and the hz when recording with GW? Is there a good way to adjust
record level? If I either record in mono or convert to mono, will files be
smaller?
Thank you Gary, Jay, and anybody else, for your helps.

Hi Howard. It depends on whether you want to make a music CD or an MP3
CD. You can put up to ten hours of music on an MP3 CD, if that's the way
you want to go.

Hi all. Here's a question from me, Howard Traxler. I've read this list for
years, but never had much questions .. or answers.
I'm ready to burn an audio CD. All the files are .wav files. Do I need to
convert them to something else? If so, how would I do that?
Thanks you much.
Howard
Hi, I am using two sound cards; jaws and computer sounds on the integrated
card and entertainment stuff on the creative plug-in card. I got it to
work twice now but I don't know what I did to make it work.
Problem is, when I boot up, jaws talks through the wrong card. So I just
restart jaws
Hello all,
I'm wondering if there's a software--or hardware--mp3 player that allows
you to place a bookmark in a long file and return to it another
time? Reading long books, then coming back to find my place is a pain, huh?
Help?
Thanks.

lower and very distorted.
Has anyone else noticed this problem and what to do about it?
Thanks lots.
