Hes, it looks as though the day has come for me to sign the death certificate
for my Logitech Squeezebox Boom Internet Radio/Music Player which has served me
faithfully since march 2011, I think that's when I bought it.

I set the machine up today to hear no sound though a source was playing.

The Squeezebox range of radio players are some of the best "stand-Alone"
players out there still and - even though Logitech don't manufacturer them any
longer - there's still a huge community of Squeezebox users out there who offer
support for the product.

The Squeezebox players can be controlled in a wide variety of ways including a
variety of IOS and Android Apps and a HTML Interface.

The control panel on the unit was a no go area for those without sight however
in the later models Logitech included beeps, as you turned the jog dial the
Squeezebox would sound a beep as you moved to the next option, when the end of
the menu of options was reached the beeps would stop and you could go no
further forward with the jog dial so you had to go back to the start. By this
means at least one could remember the choices in each menu so - even though
there was no speech using this method of control - at leas one could get a
sense of knowing where one was and what one was doing.

Sound out of the Squeezebox Boom is nothing short of amazing for a product of
its size and the same applies to the Squeezebox Radio and UE Smart Radio.

If you're after "Stand-Alone" Internet Radio systems then I would look at these
devices and try to get hold of one though you may have to pay a premium price
to get one as they're in demand.
