Sorry I was wrong, the 4S is Bluetooth 4.0 compatible, just looking at the Tech

Bluetooth 4.0 sounds far better than previous versions and later devices should
be compatible with it, certainly iPhone 5, 2012 and later Macbook machines and
Samsung Galaxy S3 and later
