Hi Arthur. I've tried doing what you said regarding ripping a DVD but still
get the error message. I think it might be required to get some kind of
plug in to defeat any kind of incription on the disc. Looking at Magic DVD
ripper's web page they have the necessary things embedded in their progra
If all else fails try hunting up AnyDVD. It is not freeware but does
what you want.

never tried to rip a DVD that's been encrypted.

Indeed! not freeware but there are some very dodgy freeware DVD converters
about the place, Prism gives good results from the tests we've carried out
here, its a consistent performer and doesn't tie up a lot of processing power
unless you specifically tell it to.
