Hi Alex,

What would you like to do with Audacity?
What screen readers do your students use?
If you are just doing simple recording, then the easy shortcuts will get you
started.

"R" for record
"L" to listen
"S" to Stop

If you want to do more such as effects, please contact me.

Kind Regards

Another Alex. :)

Subject: Audacity - accessibility and tutorial? [was]Re: converting a file

Hi, James and other audacity users,

Is Audacity fully accessible and is there a tutorial for screenreader users?
I'd like my students to use Audacity, but haven't a clue how well I can
access it?

Thanks,
Alex

I'm not sure what codecs/codec versions Mediacoder actually uses (not
sure if they publish the information on their website), but the Audacity
developers make no secret of the codecs/versions that are used by their
software. Plus I trust the integrity of FFmpeg to decode files
properly. I'm not a fan of Switch for the same reasons; you have no
control over the encoder used, settings, etc. For batch conversion, I
actually use dBpoweramp Converter, which has a whole host of codecs
available for it, but to my knowledge, video files are not supported so
Audacity comes in useful.
