I and many many others on Win7 and stuck with wmp12 have such and other
problems with wmp12. so there is nothing wrong on your end, instead its WMP12.
If you go to your fave search engine and look up 'fix wmp12 error' then you
will find some good resources acknowledging the inherent wmp12
I hope MS takes this seriously and fixes WMP 13.
