I have a file that is essentially an archive of a stream--what you get
if you enable archiving in the Shoutcast plugin for Winamp. There are
other encoders which can be used, and I am reasonably sure that the
Shoutcast plug-in was not the one used to create this particular
archive file. Here's the problem, though. The file starts out
playing OK, then at about three minutes in, it suddenly jumps to
double-speed, and the Winamp time-remaining timer starts counting up,
not down. This means that somehow the file's bit rate got changed
while archiving, something I didn't think was possible without
starting a new archive file. Does anyone have any experience with
this and if so, how to fix it? I was thinking of just lobbing off the
front three minutes of the file and seing if it would play correctly
after that, but I haven't tried to do so yet.
