To the person who could not hear the sound output on his
notebook computer while recording using Total Recorder. Maybe
this will work: Use a splitter. Connect this splitter into your
1/8 inch sound card line-in jack. This will give you 2 female
1/8 inch jacks. Plug one end of the 1/8 inch jack to your output
source and the other end to one of the jacks on the splitter.
Now you have 1 remaining jack open on the splitter. Connect a
headphone jack to this remaining jack. This way you can atleast
hear what you are recording with Total Recorder but no sure how
you can fix control levels though.
