Hello list: I am happy to report that I have solved my Winamp problem! I must confess that the idea came to me while listening to a Philmore message a friend sent me (she mentioned something about possibly checking to make sure of which sound device was playing my sounds) so with this in mind, I went to the control panel; then into Sounds And Audio (at least I think that's what it's called) long story short: I was able to determine that Total Recorder somehow had become the device that was playing audio! I then changed that to my sound card (Audigy 2) and presto! It's all working good now! No more static at low volume and no more of that "God-Awful" sound when I fast forward through a file!
