Dear sysadmins,
Days ago, I was wondering how I could ease my daily job dealing with patching,
bugs,
problem finding with Solaris. My missing tool was something to quickly find and
correlate
information. I didn't wanted to do my daily TLP/PCA - Oracle MOS - Readme
files, ... anymore.
I've

Seems like really great idea - I'll sure hope Oracle is not going to shoot it
down!
Straightforward and clean site - just as it should :-)

(I'm sorry this is so long, but it's kind of complicated._
I have a successful PCA proxy server setup; client systems use a properly
configured /etc/pca.conf which grabs patches via a central caching PCA
server to grab patches from Oracle. This is on my internal network.

False fix.
I had downloaded one specific patch on the PCA proxy server itself, then I
had downloaded the same specific patch on the client - right after I
escaped the $ character in the proxy passwrod in the .wgetrc file.
So, problem still stands, request still stands: Any ideas on how to
OK, I have debug working on pca.pl, so hopefully I'll get to the bottom
of this and post the fix soon.

Hi Lee,
Both this:
Trying http://10.44.19.68/pca-proxy.cgi?
Failed (Error 401: MOS data missing)
.. and that:
I have debug=1 in my /etc/pca-proxy.conf file on my PCA proxy, but for
some reason it isn't writing a debug log in /var/tmp/.
.. strongly point at pca-proxy.cgi not reading
I think it is a great idea and tool. Please make it available to all
sysadmins who care to use it (if they are smart).
One suggestion: in the Synopsis column, use left justification instead
of center justification, its easier on the eyes when scanning down the
column.
Well done.

Hi,
Thanks for reading, I'm waiting for your feedbacks ;-)
what I'm still missing in MOS is to search for patches which patches a
specific file. Like /usr/bin/ls or whatever. (Ok didn't check the last 4
Weeks if this is now possible.) So this would be something nice to have :)
Greetings
Jan
