Dear Folks!
I adapted my Live Phase Vocoder Abstraction [LPVoc] to a sample based Phase
Vocoder --> [PVoc].
Works with Mono & Stereo, but can be used for more channels. PVoc & LPVoc
now come with shy help files, but official manuals are still in their guts.
A [LPVoc] was also taken care of... Bo
I think it's an historical thing, most audio inlets which might benefit from a
signal level message have the [sig~] built in. I understand this might not
always have been the case so some more old school PDers use it, and they remain
in the help files.
I don't know if there's some minor techni
Hello,
Taking acoustics~-help.pd as an example: is there any reason for
the [sig~] object here? Doesn't the float from the gatom automatically
get promoted to a signal?
Thanks,
Jonathan

I just tried this myself on a friend's windows machine running a
relatively recent version of pd extended, though I'm not exactly sure
which one..
it gave me an error

whenever I tried to send a sysex message out.
And there was an error about [sysexin] not being implemented on

Hi Frank,
Here's the ones I know:
key: send a keystroke message (see manuals/pd-msg/3.0.events.pd)
meters: turn on peak meters. args: 1=on/0=off (warning: doesn't update the
meters checkbox!)
finderror: same as "Find" menu -> "Find last error"

hello
i understand that for sound level representation in the digital domain, a
special dB scale is used: The dB full scale (or dBFS). In this scale 0dB
represents the maximum possible magnitude of a sample before clipping (e.g.:
|x(n)|=1=0dBFS).
I noticed the scale on the vu object and it seems i

thanks IOhannes, Frank!
Both your approaches seem to be solving my problem so far.
And mixing the 2 techniques makes possible some interesting operations with
abstractions and unique id.
I'm trying to build kind of automated/dynamic patcher to create chains of

hi.
please note that it is usually better to ask questions on the pd-list,
because there a lot more people can answer your questions.

Hi,
i tried compiling pd-extended with the new PKGBUILD file, but there seems to be
a problem with some extension. I will compile it again later today and post the
error message. But thanks anyway.

Oh sorry, I simply had to open the .hfs file extracted from the .dmg file.
I didn't realise 7-zip could open that file format as well (its context
menu didn't appear while browsing the content of the dmg, it only
appeared after extracting it).
Sorry again

great, downloading now. i 'dropped out' of pd for about a year and got into
