we have been working on an update for the Extended View Toolkit and added some
new features:
- projection planes now can be adjusted with the mouse within the gemwin
- new storage system
- easymap abstractions, that dont rely on openGL for easier integration on
systems with old graph

I have been using v4l2loopback in GNU/Linux for streaming
https://github.com/umlaeute/v4l2loopback , along with a new Gem feature
(pix_record for v4l2 device). Once your video stream is writing to
/dev/videoX , you can use a gstreamer pipeline, or ffmpeg2theora for
streaming to icecast2
