You get instrument jack/XLR preamps in and stereo out.
Hey Dan (or anyone who feels compelled to answer),
How does one use, say, the UDOO board similar to a pedal then?
Doesn't a standard guitar effects pedal's input-jack accept

I'll take this a bit further into newb-question territory.
Are there any soundcards that output instrument level signals?
This would allow one to use "PD into a computer and then out of a computer"
similar to how one uses an effects pedal, no?

List.
Total newb question
Is there any way to "encapsulate"(?) a pd patch into some sort of hardware
(pedal? something else?) allowing for no computers (e.g. no bootup, no
load times, etc.) on stage?
I can't imagine that there is but, hey, I have no shame.
Thanks.

Hi all.
I'm trying to install aubio on ubuntu 13.10.
I used the apt-get instructions here:
http://aubio.org/download
.but putting an 'aubionotes~' object results in a
" aubionotes~
... couldn't create" in the logs.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

I've been reading a bunch on the hardware behind this hexaphonic business.
Not sure I'm grokking every bit but not too worried yet.
I'm curious though, in order to get every string/input into pd (i.e. to
interface with the program) and then use each string as some sort of
control (via "playing" s
Wow. Hadn't even heard of a hexaphonic pickup.
Good stuff.
Thanks!

Hi all.
King lurker here...and I'm kinda thinking out loud so forgive me if
some of this is somewhat cloudy.
Let's say I had a pd patch that was simply a controller for different delay
parameters. (i.e. in this case, "Bob's Guitar" signal passes through and
the patch offers the following kno
Looking forward to the first installment!

That's pretty awesome. NIce work.
Just curious..how "real time-y" could this be?
Let's say I wanted to pump my fist and have it trigger a kick-drum in time?
Is that possible? Everything I've seen seems to have a measurable delay
after the movement.
That could be because of the actual samp
Ugh.
The audio drama in Ubuntu continues..
I've never actually used any other distro than Ubuntu.
How are the other ones handling audio? (Pure dyne, AVLinux, Fedora, etc...)
Do they use pulse audio as well?

Not too sure of what I did to get it there though.
(Lots of fiddling with sound preferences/alsamixer.)
Thanks for the responses.

Yeah, I just copied it directly from the tutorial site so user error can be
ruled out. which is nice.
Weird that it's working for you guys.

Hi.
I'm trying to do the tutorial near the bottom of this page (the one titled
"3.1.2.2.3 Processing adc-input"):
http://www.pd-tutorial.com/english/ch03.html
which mentions "Say something into a microphone and play it back at a
changed volume"
I'm not totally sure how this would work, howe

Hi all.
Long time lurker. Infrequent poster
I'd like to setup a very raw alarm type of system where I have a mic
listening for a certain frequency.
Once that frequency is detected, pd will do something (maybe send out a
text-message or something.via twitter?)
I have a vague idea ab

This is somewhat of a complete newb issue so I apologize up front for
that...
However, it seems that I cannot use pdextended and watch a youtube video at
the same time (the youtube vid is a pd tutorial).
Here's what it's starting with:
