I haven't used a great deal of controllers, but I'm fond of the korg
microkontrol, now sadly discontinued, although one is still able to
get hold of it fairly easily. Fairly good, sturdy build quality (metal
body), and nice range of different control types, quite similar to the
akai one you mention
Very exciting! Makes me seriously think about trying to get one... Would be
interested to hear how much it can do in PD befor it starts to struggle.

Hi all. Just a quick one: does anyone know of a way to have pure data
default to using alsa midi instead of (ahem) default midi? I couldn't find
a way to permanently set this from the GUI, so I'm wondering if it's
possible. Ideally, I'm looking for something I can put in my .pdextended

A little hacky, but it seems to work. Nice! The aj-snapshot and patchbay
solutions also seem like they would be useful, and I'll remember them if I
ever start working with those.

Whoops! Somewhat garbled opening paragraph, there. Oh, well. You probably
get the idea.

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could help me remove an irritating behaviour of
pure data which I've noticed lately. When running qjackctl, and selecting

Hi all,
I've noticed that nesting nqpoly4 doesn't seem to work. i.e., if a patch
contains an nqpoly4 of patchX, and patchX contains an nqpoly4 of patchY,
then the patchY's will not instantiate. Instead, a bunch of 'connection
failed' messages appear in pd's console.
Is this a known bug? Any worka
Hi all,
Crossposting this to the pure data mailing list and linux audio users as it
concerns PD and the linux OS also.
I'd like to be able to use a second mouse as an input device for
controlling synthesis in Pure Data. (Well, actually, it's a trackball I'd
like to use - much more fun, but I beli
Perfect. Thanks, both.

Hi all,
Does anyone know if there is a simple way to run an outside command from
inside pure data on linux? I'd really like it if I could just click a
button from within pd to run 'xset -r' and 'xset r' to turn keyboard repeat
off and on again respectively.
Thanks!
James
