Hmm... I don't think people have had much trouble if you use the
packages. Right now, there is really mostly a Debian/Ubuntu package,
but it is getting much much easier to package things, so now is the
time to work on packaging for other distros.

how can I check, whether an installation of pd-extended
is complete and ok beside the "it beeps" when I call
the audio check functionality in the menu of pd?
