solved!!
sorry for the late reply, but something happened between 12/07 and 01/08
that solved that problem. I don't know, why I did not notice earlier. (I
am using pd-extended 0.40.3 autobuild from 20080117.
gemmouse working again and focus too, and everything, thanks to whoever
fixed it!

I think this is fixed now. Check the autobuild tomorrow or CVS now.

I don't think anyone really knows, that's the problem. It's not
related to compiling. You need use Rez to somehow install the mac.r
file. You can see the exact command in packages/darwin_app/Makefile
but beyond that I don't really know.

of the highly praised OS X. when I click on it, it just stays in the
back. I can't move it. also, topmost 1 does not work.
anything else I can try? I am using gem 0.91 from cvs (oct 26).
