The rsync/script method should work. I'm in the process of setting up a Maverick/i386 box, so I guess we'll find out soon what all breaks. Can you post the build errors? This is the error I got when building from this source: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pure-data/Pd-0.42.5-extended.

I did a succesful build of pd-extended-rc6 on Ubuntu Maverick amd64. Pidip did not compile, so I left it out . Still working on the build. I believe I got the source by doing the auto-build process: rsync -av --delete rsync://128.238.56.50/distros/pd-extended/ pd-extended/ ./pd-extended/scripts/
