I am hoping to travel to northern Italy in late July or August, to the
"picturesque lake area" north of Milan. What is especially good to
photograph there, both landscape and architecture (though from what I've
read so far everything there is photogenic)?
And BTW where would a decently inexpensi

i just picked up a 28 F3.5 K lens - the one that gets very high ratings - I

Tom,
I suppose I'm experiencing what you experienced
previously. NC 160 seems a little washed out, so I
tried out VC 160 (I'm new to all these Portra thing).
Haven't got the results back though. I suppose NC
having that washed-out look is ok if you shoot
portraits (that's what it's meant for, rig

Hi,
I never did any really large enlargements with Ultra 50, but found it quit
fine grained.
I'll give those two you mentioned a try.
I loved colour saturation of Ultra 50, i think the main thing i'm after is
the punchy colours.
its a shame they discontinued it.

I shot quite a bit of Ultra 50 and never noticed it to be that fine grained.
Where it was great was in diffused light where most films would look drab.
It also had fairly narrow exposure lattitude for a print film. Once it was
gone I, too, have looked for a replacement. I have yet to find one.
Please keep us updated with any important security info. Thanks.

Hi,
I used to shoot some agfa ultra 50 and it has since been discontinued. Could
any one reccomend a print with a similar fine grain and colour saturation?
Thanks,

Hi,
Being on the used equipment market I had the chance to see a lot of older
Pentax (and non-Pentax) lenses: Takumars, M's and A's. Most of them are of
course primes, although some zooms appeared too. I bought two in the last
two months: SMC M 50mm/f2 and SMC A 28mm/f2,8. Gee, what a different "t
