Arrived home safely yesterday, back to work today. I finished the trip a few
days ahead of schedule and spent them lazily in Perpignan and Collioure. No
bike problems until yesterday when, about 200 yards from home, the rear
derailleur cable snapped.

Film equipment is so inexpensive these days, even rather rare stuff that
you might be better off buying a new body and keeping the one with the
broken shutter button for parts.

I've never had exactly that experience with a camera, but I've had
massive discharges from batteries when a dead short developed in a
circuit. I'd be wary of any device that did that once. Those types of
problems seldom fix themselves.

Set-up on a tripod with a long cable release and pre-focus. Easier
now as you don't waste film.
Also, small mammals might be eating your seeds as well. Squirrels and
racoons here.

Alan, I like the second and third shots--nice composition and detail.
In the first shot, the very bright seed reservoir along the left is
distracting; and the far bird is either too sharp or too blurry.
Sensor speed, latitude and noise were the reasons I bought a K-5 just a year
and a half afte

I was just pointing out that their failure to obtain a commercial
filming permit is just as valid a reason for that to have happened as is
any anti-drone sentiment.
